Here’s some great news! Reparation Generation is now a newly-formed California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation. We are excited to take this next step in our journey and are partnering with Movement Alliance Project (MAP), as our new Fiscal Sponsor. Under this new structure, RepGen will operate as an independent nonprofit with our own governance structure while partnering with MAP on the receipt of charitable contributions and grant funding to support our programmatic work.
“Movement Alliance Project is excited to support Reparation Generation. Their work is exciting and necessary.” Jacob Winterstein, Co-Executive Director, Movement Alliance Project
Over the last several years, RepGen’s programs, funder support, and role in the broader reparations ecosystem have continued to grow. Given this current moment, our steadfast commitment to our Mission requires continued bold action as we imagine, design, create and evaluate models of repair for Black Descendants of people enslaved in the US. Establishing our autonomy as a standalone entity was a critical decision and natural evolution.
Since our founding, Multiplier (our former Fiscal Sponsor) played a vital role in giving us the support and room to incubate our ideas into models, then actualize these into our demonstration programs. Through this partnership we piloted, learned and set a foundation for this next phase of growth.
