ED Christian Harris speaks at Blackroots Alliance event

RepGen Executive Director Christian Harris spoke at the Blackroots Alliance’s Community Conversation: Road to Reparations event on May 10 joining revered leaders and trailblazers working at the vanguard of reparations efforts across the state of Illinois and city of Chicago. The event was both a conversation and a call to action as participants discussed the paths forward, the power of preparation, and the importance of solidarity.

Harris was the special guest on a recent episode of the Point of Disorder podcast. Harris and the POD hosts discussed what reparations looks like in 2025, if the conversation is still possible, and what the Juneteenth holiday means in today’s political climate. ED Christian Harris Selected as a Member of Chicago Reparation Task Force

Harris is one of 40 Task Force members charged with defining what Black reparations means in the specific context of Chicago, identifying key areas of harm for redress (e.g., housing, policing, incarceration, education, health, and economic development), and helping to develop recommendations and remedies for reparative actions while supporting the development of Chicago’s Reparations Study. Task Force members will conduct research, public engagement, and popular education around reparations. Read the full press release here.
