Christian Harris is a visionary strategist, movement builder, and community-rooted leader committed to advancing reparative justice. As the first Executive Director of Reparation Generation, Christian is guiding the organization through a pivotal period of growth—building infrastructure, launching and scaling national programs, and cultivating the relationships and resources needed to drive systemic change.
In his role, Christian leads Reparation Generation’s strategic and operational development, overseeing all aspects of programming, fundraising, communications, and expansion. He works closely with the organization’s Executive Board, National Advisory Board, movement partners and supporters to implement a bold strategy: shifting the national conversation on reparations from theory to practice.
Christian brings a unique blend of entrepreneurial grit, political acumen, and deep cultural insight. He previously co-founded the Oak Park Reparations Task Force, where he helped galvanize a community-led movement to advance local reparative policies. A skilled fundraiser and former political candidate, Christian has raised money for grassroots campaigns and served as West Side Regional Field Coordinator for Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson’s successful 2023 run. His collaborative leadership style is informed by experience as both an elected official, business owner, and an organizer, building trust across institutions and communities to drive lasting impact.
Beyond his political and nonprofit work, Christian is a sought-after keynote speaker and historian of Black American heritage, he has inspired audiences across the country, delivering talks for organizations such as the Lutheran School of Theology, Millipore Sigma, and the Oak Park Public Library.
